Why Kiospal exists
Talent is everywhere. Opportunity, exposure and access are not. Kiospal is my small answer to that.
I was born in a Tier-3 town in Tamil Nadu and grew up in Thanjavur. I had one advantage most kids around me didn't: access to a computer, and nobody stopping me from taking it apart.
That's the whole story, really. Not talent — access.
When I moved to Coimbatore for college, I met people who had known what a startup was since school. Who had seen a laptop with a terminal open before they were eighteen. Who had someone to ask. I was not behind them in ability. I was behind them in exposure, and it took me years to close that gap by myself.
Kiospal is built on one belief: talent is everywhere, opportunity is not.
So we do simple things. Bootcamps where students build something real in a weekend instead of watching slides. Hands-on sessions with small businesses that have a problem and no engineer. Long conversations with first-generation founders who are figuring out things nobody in their family has done before. I'm usually the technical hand in the room — the person who turns "I have an idea" into "here is the first working version."
I don't think technology is valuable because it's sophisticated. It's valuable for what it lets people do. If a student from a small town leaves a session able to build what they couldn't build yesterday, that's the whole point.
If that's the community you came from too, you know where to find me.
